Mr. Snider brings 25 years of national and international experience in geology, geophysics, hydrogeology, the design and implementation of field exploration programs and support of regulatory, legal and public processes. His experience includes work on environmental projects (both hazardous and nuclear waste), forensic analyses of soil and foundation failures, studies of groundwater contamination, and site investigations for major engineering projects such as dams and reservoirs, electrical transmission lines, and nuclear and fossil-fueled power plants. Since 1994 he has been a Principal of Applied Geosciences Incorporated providing specialty consulting services to both public and private clients.
Mr. Snider's support of legal processes includes pre-litigation investigations and providing expert testimony to address a wide variety of geologic and hydrologic issues, including:
unstable soils and fill
soil and foundation failures
sinkholes and ground collapse
reservoir leakage and siltation
earthen dam failures and flooding
slope failure and landslides
groundwater contamination
interpretation of geophysical data
analysis of soil and rock borings
soil-water-foundation interactions
computer modeling of groundwater flow
interpretation of aerial photos and satellite imagery
Mr. Snider holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Amherst College and a Master's degree in Geology/Geophysics from Wesleyan University. He is a Registered Professional Geologist in the states of North Carolina and Virginia and is widely published in both peer review journals and the popular press.
